The Cabinet of Ministers has issued a decree to support the export potential in sunflower cultivation. This information was reported by the Ministry of Justice's legal information channel.
According to the document, all economic entities, regardless of their organizational and legal form, are permitted to export sunflower seeds from the customs territory of Uzbekistan. This decision is valid for all shipments starting from December 20.
The decree applies to striped sunflower seeds (HS code 1206 00 910 0) and white seeds (HS code 1206 00 990 0).
In June 2022, the president prohibited the export of sunflower seeds and other oilseeds, as well as sunflower and other vegetable oils, to stabilize prices in the domestic market. However, the export of products produced under the "processing in the customs zone" regime was allowed.
The ban on the export of most vegetable oils with exceptions was lifted in March of this year. Prior to this, the Ministry of Economy and Finance had proposed to ease restrictions on the export of vegetable oils to support the oil extraction industry.
Previously, Spot reported on plans to expand the use of shock freezing for vegetables and fruits.
