In January to September 2024, insurers in Uzbekistan collected premiums totaling 7.01 trillion sums.

In the first nine months of 2024, insurance companies in Uzbekistan collected premiums totaling 7.01 trillion soums, reflecting an 18.6% increase compared to the same period last year. This information was provided by the National Agency for Project Management (NAPM).

The volume of insurance payouts for the reporting period increased by 18.8%, amounting to 1.63 trillion sums. General insurance accounted for 75% of all payouts (1.54 trillion sums), while life insurance contributed 25% or 97.63 billion sums.

According to data from NAPP, as of October 1, 2024, there were 35 insurance companies operating in Uzbekistan, which is seven fewer compared to the same period last year. Among them, five companies are engaged in life insurance (a decrease of three companies over the year).

The total volume of investments by insurance organizations reached nearly 6.3 trillion sums, which is 8.0% higher than a year ago. The share of deposits in investments was 69.1%, securities accounted for 20.7%, and real estate made up 7.1%.

Apex Insurance led the way in terms of insurance premiums in the general insurance segment, collecting 2.3 trillion sums (+64.8% year-on-year). In second place was "Uzbekinvest" with 0.8 trillion sums (-13.6%), followed by Kafolat SK, which reported 0.5 trillion sums (-2.4%).

In life insurance, Apex Life Insurance holds the top position with premiums of 114.5 billion sums (+161.3%). Following closely are Alfa Life Insurance, which collected 21.0 billion sums (-32.1%), and Kafolat Hayot Insurance with premiums of 14.2 billion sums (-21.8%).

In terms of the number of active contracts, Gross sug'urta kompaniyasi ranks first with 1,020 thousand contracts (+12.9%). In second place is "Uzbekinvest" with 1,014 thousand contracts (+1.4%), while My Insurance takes third place, showing significant growth to 1,003 thousand contracts (+102.8%).
