In recent days, there has been active discussion in the information space regarding claims that the Taliban has sent a request to the authorities of Uzbekistan to cancel musical events at the border trade center "Termez." It was noted that the Taliban is categorically against such events, citing religious beliefs. The Taliban also threatened that if this demand is not met, Afghan citizens will be prohibited from visiting this trading venue.
However, the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan refuted this information. It was stated that Uzbekistan has not received any official requests from the interim government of Afghanistan concerning the organization of cultural events with musical accompaniment at the border International Trade Center "Termez."
The opening of the International Trade Center "Termez" at the end of August marked an important milestone in the development of bilateral relations between Uzbekistan and Afghanistan. This project aims to strengthen economic ties between the two countries. In the free trade zone, payments can be made in US dollars, euros, rubles, and yuan. There is a procedure for entry through a special corridor without the need for a visa for up to 15 days, meaning Afghan citizens can visit this center without needing a visa for Uzbekistan.
