He reported that in February, an additional 12 cars will arrive in the capital, which corresponds to three train sets. This is part of a large-scale program aimed at upgrading the fleet to enhance the comfort and reliability of passenger transportation.
Over the past 3–4 years, the passenger flow of the Tashkent Metro has significantly increased — from 250,000 to over one million people per day, added Rustam Shafikov.
Since 2021, 38 train sets have been operating on the lines of the capital's metro. However, thanks to the modernization program, 152 new cars have been acquired in recent years — equivalent to an additional 38 train sets. As a result, the total number of trains in operation has risen to 74.
