The press service of "Uzbekiston Temir Yullari" has released a denial regarding the statement about the tender for the purchase of 40 electric trains.
The state company noted that the information disseminated in the media and social networks about the tender is outdated. The announcement for the tender was published several years ago and is no longer relevant, as emphasized in the statement.
“Currently, JSC ‘Uzbekiston Temir Yullari’ is not conducting such a tender,” the press service added.
Information about the tender appeared on the LinkedIn page of the head of the logistics and marketing department of UTY, Mahmudzhan Takhirov, with a reference to the head of "Uztemiryulovchi," Fazil Sharipov. Access to the profile is currently restricted.
In the fall of 2022, "Uzbekiston Temir Yullari" held a tender for the purchase of 34 electric trains with the condition of training drivers and maintenance personnel. There have been no reports on the results of the tender in open sources.
As of December 3, a modern EP3D electric train manufactured by the Russian "Transmashholding" began operating between the capital and Khojikent. The train is designed for 586 passengers and can reach speeds of up to 120 km/h.
Earlier, Spot reported that "Uzbekiston Temir Yullari" is introducing New Year discounts on train tickets for students.
