Uzbekistan, Tashkent – According to Podrobno.uz. Uzbekistan has reached an agreement with the Philippines to support its accession to the World Trade Organization, reports a Podrobno.uz correspondent.

On December 1, in Geneva, a protocol on the completion of bilateral negotiations was signed by Azizbek Urunov, the special representative of the President of Uzbekistan for WTO matters, and the ambassador of the island nation of Tihanki, Manuel. The signing ceremony was attended by Zhang Xiangchen, the deputy director-general of the organization.

"I would like to express my gratitude to one of the best ambassadors I know in Geneva for the cooperation, support, and joint implementation," Urunov noted.

It is worth mentioning that over the past two months, Uzbekistan has secured support for its accession to the WTO from four countries: the USA, China, the Philippines, and El Salvador.
