The operator servicing this line will continue to be "Sogdiana Trans," a company owned by "Uzbekiston Temir Yullari." The contract regarding this matter was last extended for six months in the summer of 2024.
This issue was discussed during meetings between the Minister of Transport of Uzbekistan, Ilkhom Makhkamov, and a delegation from Afghanistan, led by the Deputy Minister of Public Works for Railway Affairs, Muhammadjon Mahmadali Sokhibzoda. These meetings took place from January 21 to 23 in Tashkent.
