The signing of documents took place on January 13 with the participation of Uzbekistan's Minister of Investments, Industry and Trade Laziz Kudratov and UAE Minister of Energy and Infrastructure Suhail Mohamed Faris Al Mazrouei.
Agreements were concluded with leading companies such as Masdar, Burjeel Holdings, Solar Power Shine, AD Ports, Emirates Group, and others. These agreements cover sectors including energy, healthcare, water supply, transportation, and logistics.
During the ceremony, it was emphasized that the development of trade, economic, and investment relations between the countries has been made possible through the strengthening of mutual trust at the highest level.
It is noteworthy that cooperation between Uzbekistan and the UAE has shown consistent growth. Since 2021, mutual trade turnover has been increasing by an average of 20% annually, reaching $650 million by the end of 2024. There are 337 enterprises with UAE capital operating in the republic, of which 114 are joint ventures and 223 are wholly foreign-owned.
Over the past two years, investments from the UAE in Uzbekistan have significantly increased: in 2023, $1.08 billion was invested, and in 2024, the amount is expected to reach $1.5 billion. The projects being implemented span various sectors, including energy, agriculture, chemical industry, transportation, logistics, IT, and infrastructure.
A special focus is on the activities of the "Uzbekistan-Emirates Investment Company," whose financial portfolio amounts to $200 million. Currently, it is implementing projects in the fields of medicine, geology, agriculture, and tourism, with nine initiatives under development.
As a reminder, on January 13, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev departed for an official visit to the UAE. The visit program includes important meetings and events in Abu Dhabi and Dubai.
