Uzbekistan triumphed over North Korea in the qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup.

The Uzbekistan footballers opened the scoring in the first half. In the 44th minute, Abbosbek Faizullayev scored with a shot from outside the penalty area.

In the 83rd minute, Umid Eshmuradov received a red card for handling the ball in the penalty area. The referee awarded a penalty. Goalkeeper Utkir Yusupov saved the shot from the penalty mark.

In the first match of Group A, the Uzbekistan national team defeated North Korea in Tashkent with the same score. After their second victory over the opponent, Srechko Katanec's team has accumulated 13 points and continues to hold second place in the group. The North Koreans remain in last place, having only managed to earn two points in six matches.
