"The year 2024 has marked a significant milestone in Uzbekistan's integration into the global economy. We held two key meetings of the WTO working group, which enabled us to begin preparing the main membership document – the draft report of the working group. Additionally, bilateral negotiations were completed with 15 countries, including the USA, China, and Japan, resulting in 23 signed agreements," said Mirziyoyeva.
According to her, within a short period, 20 new laws aimed at enhancing business transparency and fostering a competitive environment have been adopted. These reforms are helping to lay the groundwork for Uzbekistan's entry into global economic processes.
This progress has been made possible due to extensive reforms under the leadership of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev. Work will continue at the same pace in 2025.
"Membership in the WTO will be an important step for our country. It will open new opportunities for business, attract international investments, and ensure the integration of the Uzbek economy into global value chains," emphasized Saida Mirziyoyeva.
She stated that the main goal of the reforms remains the well-being of citizens: creating jobs, improving living standards, and implementing modern approaches to economic management. Uzbekistan is confidently moving towards achieving these goals while strengthening its position on the international stage.
