Uzbekistan has joined the agreement for paperless cross-border trade among Asia-Pacific nations.

Uzbekistan, Tashkent – According to AN Podrobno.uz. In early November, Uzbekistan signed on to the international "Framework Agreement on the Facilitation of Cross-Border Paperless Trade in the Asia-Pacific Region." This agreement is set to take effect on February 3, 2025, as reported by a correspondent from Podrobno.uz.

The press service of the Ministry of Investments, Industry and Trade reported this. Participation in this agreement will facilitate the export and import of goods, accelerate trade operations with partners in the Asia-Pacific region, and assist Uzbekistan in integrating into the international electronic trading system.

The national Ministry of Investments, Industry and Trade will be responsible for the implementation of the agreement in Uzbekistan.

For reference. The document was developed by the UN for countries in Asia and the Pacific in 2016 and came into effect in 2021. Currently, 14 states have joined it. Its goal is to simplify trade between countries by using electronic documents and data instead of paper ones. This helps to speed up information exchange and makes cooperation more convenient.
