This statement was made by Tom Shi, the Vice President of the Chinese company Shanghai SUS Environment, which entered the waste-to-energy market in Uzbekistan in 2024.
Shi also mentioned that as part of its project expansion, Shanghai SUS Environment plans to invest approximately one billion dollars in the waste recycling sector.
Furthermore, he assured that there would be practical support for this new direction for our country. In particular, the Chinese partners are ready to participate in training personnel, conducting research work with local universities and specialized organizations, as well as in the joint development of regulatory documents related to legislation.
It is worth noting that a memorandum of cooperation on the development and implementation of waste-to-energy projects with Shanghai SUS Environment was signed in May 2024.
