Uzbekistan has not experienced any changes in the global passport ranking from the investment company Henley & Partners. Spot has reviewed the updated version of the index.

As of the end of last year, Uzbekistan holds the 80th position alongside Cuba. Citizens can visit 62 countries without a visa or obtain one upon arrival. Compared to 2023, the ranking of the domestic passport remains unchanged.

In 2024, Uzbekistan signed visa-free agreements with the UAE, Thailand, Oman, Pakistan, and plans to do so with China. Over the past 15 years, the number of visa-free destinations for citizens has increased by almost a third—from 47 in 2010 to 62 countries.

The Uzbek passport ranks lower than almost all post-Soviet countries. Belarus is in 62nd place (81 countries), Kazakhstan is 65th (77), Azerbaijan is 70th (72), Armenia is 74th (68), and Kyrgyzstan is 78th (64). Russia is at 46th place (116 countries), but the closure of air travel to EU and US countries complicates tourist trips.

The top position is held by Singapore, whose citizens can enter 195 countries and territories without prior notification from local authorities. For them, a visa is either not required or can be obtained upon arrival.

Japan ranks second with access to 193 countries. The third position is shared by six countries: Finland, France, Germany, Italy, South Korea, and Spain. Specifically, their citizens can travel visa-free to over 192 countries worldwide. Other European nations and New Zealand also made it to the top five.

Traditionally, Afghanistan is at the bottom of the ranking—its passport allows travel without a visa to 26 countries. Syria, Iraq, Yemen, Pakistan, and Somalia also rank low, with fewer than 36 countries.

Previously, Spot reported that Uzbekistan rose two positions in the global passport strength ranking.
