This decision was reached during a videoconference between the Deputy Minister of Agriculture of Uzbekistan, Kakhramon Yuldashev, and the Deputy Head of the Federal Agency for Fisheries of Russia, Andrey Yakovlev.
According to the agreements, Uzbek fishermen will be allocated a quota for catching 20,000 tons of pollock and 5,000 tons of herring in a special economic zone of Russia, as reported by the press service of the Ministry of Agriculture of Uzbekistan.
The meeting also included a ceremony for signing the final protocol of the first session of the joint commission on fisheries between the two countries.
Furthermore, the parties agreed to strengthen scientific and technical cooperation, implement joint programs and projects in the field of fisheries and aquaculture, as well as conduct experience exchange and professional development for specialists in the fishing industry.
It is worth noting that a new Russian-Uzbek enterprise, "Far East Fisheries," has opened in Vladivostok for fish processing.
