A consensus was reached during the visit of the First Deputy Chairman of the Board, Hikmatulla Rakhmetov, to China on December 14-15. He held discussions for the first time with the head of the China Railway Urumqi Bureau Group, Guo Jiang, in the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region (XUAR), as well as with the Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and President of the "Lianyungang Port Group," Wang Guochao, in Lianyungang.
The parties explored the prospects for cooperation, the organization of multimodal transportation, the increase of cargo turnover between Uzbekistan and China, and issues related to the formation of container block trains.
A significant advancement for the Uzbek company was the resolution regarding the opening of its first representative office, "Temiriyulkargo," in China. This will enable the expansion of international presence and open new opportunities for the development of multimodal transportation.
Additionally, concerns were raised about delays and idle railcars and containers at border points in China. The parties agreed to hold regular meetings aimed at resolving these issues.
Following the negotiations, agreements on cooperation were reached with both companies to create synergy for increasing cargo flow.
