A new diesel train is set to start operating on the "Tashkent - Bukhara - Tashkent" route shortly, as reported by the press service of the Ministry of Transport.
The train, built at the Tashkent plant for the construction and repair of passenger cars, is currently undergoing testing and will soon be available for passengers.
The train consists of 12 cars:
- 2 VIP class;
- 4 business class;
- 4 economy class;
- a restaurant;
- a diesel car.
One of the main advantages of the new train is the enhanced air conditioning system, which continues to operate even during stops in the summer.
The train covers a distance of 592 km in 6 hours. The ticket prices and schedule have not yet been specified, nor has the cost of construction and equipping the train.
As mentioned by the head of UTY, Zufar Narzullaev, in August, $50 million is expected to be allocated for the modernization of 70 passenger cars as part of railway sector reforms. These cars are planned to be extended from 24 to 26 meters and updated to modern standards.
Earlier, Spot reported that a train from Tashkent to Issyk-Kul will start operating in 2025.
