Today, the president signed a law "On Railway Transport" in a new edition, which opens up opportunities for attracting private companies and investments, as well as for infrastructure development.
The head of state instructed to expedite the transformation of the sector, ensuring the quality implementation of construction and modernization projects. Among the key tasks, he highlighted the need to obtain an international credit rating, attract funds without state guarantees, and effectively utilize investments.
Moreover, Uzbekistan's air transport has yet to reach a level that satisfies the population. In particular, the acquisition of an international rating and access to the external financial market is delayed. As a result, high service costs prevent a significant reduction in ticket prices, and cost-cutting measures are being implemented slowly.
Mirziyoyev has tasked the development of a specific program and roadmap for transformation with the involvement of a consulting company.
By the end of the year, it is planned to double the number of additional services at airports and increase their revenues by 25%. Measures have also been identified to attract independent resources from the international market for the full utilization of Navoi Airport.
Earlier, Spot reported that the fare for buses and the metro in Tashkent is expected to rise.
