According to the results of 2024, the production of passenger cars in Uzbekistan exceeded 424.8 thousand units, which is an increase of 0.82% compared to the previous year, reports the Statistics Agency.
The output of passenger cars amounted to 399.2 thousand (a growth of 0.91%), while special vehicles reached 25.4 thousand (+2.3%). Traditionally, the most produced car in recent years has been the Chevrolet Cobalt, with a production of 164.8 thousand units (+39.5%)—this accounts for about 40% of the total output of the domestic automotive industry.
In second place is the Damas, whose production has been increasing for the fifth consecutive year and has doubled since 2020, surpassing the milestone of 100 thousand cars for the first time last year (+14.3%).
Next are two more Chevrolet models—Onix and Tracker, which together account for 20% of the entire automotive sector. While Onix showed a growth of more than a third, reaching 41.6 thousand units, the production of Tracker decreased by 4.5%, dropping below the mark of 46 thousand units. Additionally, UzAuto Motors produced just over 12.8 thousand Lacetti-Gentra cars, the production of which ceased on July 26.
Among foreign brands, Kia leads with 19.3 thousand vehicles (+28.5%). Following are Chery (6.3 thousand units, -35.9%), BYD (4 thousand units), whose plant began operations in June, and Haval (2.47 thousand units, an 18.5-fold increase). Furthermore, in July, Uzbekistan produced six Lada cars for the first time.
