According to the results of 2024, Uzbekistan imported 74,700 passenger cars, including electric vehicles, with a total value of $1.28 billion, as reported by the Statistics Agency.

Data from the Customs Committee shows that compared to 2023, the import volume in monetary terms decreased by 33.2%, while the quantity fell by 7%.

More than 61,000 cars were imported from China, accounting for 81.6% of all foreign car imports. Almost all electric vehicle imports came from the Middle Kingdom, with 22,100 units brought in over the course of 11 months.

In second place, with a significant gap, is South Korea, with just under 12,000 vehicles. The United States (639 units), India (577), and Japan (168) follow. Additionally, 374 cars were imported from other countries.

Last year, the import of electric vehicles and hybrids in Uzbekistan exceeded that of gasoline cars for the first time in history. The share of internal combustion engine vehicles in imports fell from 64.4% to 44.2%. Meanwhile, the share of electric vehicles in imports increased from 20% to 32.3%, and hybrids rose from 15.3% to 23.4%.
