On January 6, some areas of the Bektemir district are expected to experience power outages, according to "Tashgorenergo."
The outages will affect the mahallas "Musaffo," "Nurli Yul," and "Sohil" between 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM. This is related to the repair of electrical networks and "preventing emergency situations."
Since the summer of 2023, a large-scale modernization of the electrical networks has been ongoing in the capital. In June of that year, the most extensive rolling blackouts of the season were observed—on June 8, for instance, eight districts lost electricity. In August, Shavkat Mirziyoyev announced the transition of the energy sector's leadership to an emergency operating mode.
During a meeting in October 2023, the head of state tasked the development of a modernization program for power lines and transformers by the end of 2026. By that time, it is planned to reduce the share of electricity losses in the networks by 1.5 times.
The President reiterated the goal of eliminating emergency power outages by June 2024. An additional 14 trillion sums will be allocated for preparing the energy sector for the upcoming autumn-winter period.
At the end of December, "Regional Electric Networks" announced the suspension of scheduled repairs during the New Year holidays. The operator recommended that consumers contact 1154 in case of any issues related to electricity supply.
Previously, Spot reported that businesses are expected to be allowed to pay for electricity through mobile applications.
