On January 9, power outages are expected in certain areas of the Bektemir district of Tashkent, as reported by "Tashgorenergo."

Interruptions may occur in the mahallas of "Musaffo," "Nurli Yul," and "Sohil" from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM. The reasons cited include ongoing repair work and "preventing emergency situations."

Since the summer of 2023, the capital has been undergoing modernization of its electrical networks. In June of that year, the largest scale power outages of the season were observed— for example, on June 8, eight districts lost electricity. In August, Shavkat Mirziyoyev announced the transition of the energy sector management to an emergency operating mode.

At a meeting in October 2023, the head of state instructed the development of a program for the modernization of power lines and transformers by the end of 2026. By that time, it is planned to reduce electricity losses in the networks by 1.5 times.

The President reiterated the goal of eliminating emergency power outages by June 2024. An additional 14 trillion soums will be allocated to prepare the energy sector for the upcoming autumn-winter period.

At the end of December, "Regional Electric Networks" announced the suspension of planned repairs during the New Year holidays. The operator recommended that consumers contact 1154 if they encounter issues related to electricity supply.
