On November 21, temporary power outages are scheduled in two districts of Tashkent, as reported by "Tashgorenergo."
The supply will be suspended for repairs and technical maintenance of the power grids. From 8 AM to 5 PM, the following locations may be affected:
- In the Bektemir district – the mahallas "Gulbog," "Zabardast," "Iyk-ota," "Ustozlar";
- In the Mirzo-Ulugbek district – the mahallas "Alisherobod," "Geologlar," "Geofizika," "Jasorat," "Zakovat," "Ijodkor," "Iktidor."
Since the summer of 2023, a large-scale modernization of the power grids has been ongoing in the capital. In June, the most extensive rolling blackouts of the season were observed – for instance, on June 8, eight districts lost electricity.
Last August, Shavkat Mirziyoyev announced the transition of the energy sector's leadership to an emergency operational mode. The President urged officials to take urgent action to prepare the energy system for the autumn-winter period.
At a meeting in October 2023, the head of state instructed to develop a modernization program for power lines and transformers by the end of 2026. By that time, it is planned to reduce the share of electricity losses in the grids by 1.5 times.
The President reiterated the task of eliminating emergency power outages in June of this year. An additional 14 trillion sums will be allocated for the preparation of the energy sector for the upcoming autumn-winter period.
