This year, pharmacies in Uzbekistan generated over 7 billion sums by inflating drug prices.
Uzbekistan, Tashkent – According to AN Podrobno.uz, since the beginning of the year, consumers in Uzbekistan have overpaid pharmacies by more than 7 billion sums. This statement was made by the Committee for the Development of Competition and Consumer Rights Protection, which examined over 107,000 instances of prices exceeding the reference rates for medications.

Reports of violations were received through the Fair Tech information system, as well as directly from consumers. Complaints involved 878 pharmacies that were overcharging for medications.
It is reported that committee specialists have taken measures to refund consumers the overpaid amounts.
It is worth noting that the register of reference prices for pharmaceuticals is periodically published on the platforms of Uzpharmcontrol. Additionally, since May 1, 2023, an automated system has been implemented to detect instances of medication sales at inflated prices.
