On November 22, Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a meeting regarding additional measures for the socio-economic development of the Khorezm region, as reported by the president's press service.
In 2025, the region aims to attract $1.5 billion in investments. By incorporating 175 hectares of land in the Kushkupir district into the industrial zone, projects worth $1 billion can be implemented. In the electrical engineering, chemical, machine engineering, and pharmaceutical sectors, 2,000 jobs will be created.
Reducing the protective zone of the Shavat canal from 50 to 25 meters will allow for projects worth $30 million, providing services worth 1 trillion sums and employing 2,500 people.
There are also opportunities for projects worth $50 million around the Gazavat and Polvon canals.

During the meeting, "unrealized opportunities" in agriculture and water management were highlighted, particularly poultry farming in the Kushkupir district and fish farming in the Bagat district. Improving water supply in Yangiarik will provide jobs for 1,200 people in the cultivation of melons, rice, and fish breeding.
In the Khorezm region, plans are in place to renovate 44 schools and kindergartens, as well as to construct new educational institutions based on PPP models. The establishment of multi-profile medical centers is also planned in the Urgench, Bagat, Shavat, and Yangibazar districts.
The head of state instructed to compile these proposals and prepare a draft resolution. It is crucial to turn opportunities into results, provide people with jobs, and increase their incomes, emphasized Mirziyoyev.
Earlier, Spot reported that the Samarkand region plans to allocate $1.85 billion in investments by 2025.
