Bank branches will open in Uzbekistan's neighborhoods, offering residents ready-made business projects.

Uzbekistan, Tashkent – According to Podrobno.uz, a new approach will be implemented in the neighborhoods of Uzbekistan to enhance the operations of bank branches. In collaboration with local authorities, they will present ready-made business projects to the community and provide training on how to implement these initiatives. To support these efforts, a total of $1 billion in credit resources will be allocated.

This is part of the measures planned to be implemented to ensure employment for the population and increase income in mahallas with the participation of banks. This was discussed today with President Shavkat Mirziyoyev. The Central Bank Chairman and his deputies will take charge of this initiative and will travel to the regions for this purpose.

Additionally, by February 1, 2025, special departments for working with mahallas will be established at district bank branches, where "mahalla bankers" will be appointed.

The President emphasized that 2025 should be a pivotal year for addressing employment issues and reducing poverty. In this regard, he instructed to enhance the coordinated efforts of local khokimiyats and economic-financial structures.

This year, a total of 5.2 million people are expected to be employed, with over 3 million of them receiving assistance from banks.
