During excavations at the archaeological site of Akhsikent in the Namangan region, a 2.3-meter-wide staircase and underground arched corridors at a depth of 4 meters were discovered. After the removal of 10,000 cubic meters of soil, 12 steps were revealed, along with additional underground passages connected to the main corridor. These structures were constructed from durable bricks and adorned with elegant arches. Ancient Italian shells and heating systems were also found at the site.
Among the findings are images from the Karakhanid era, ancient walls, aqueducts, and defensive structures. The excavations and discoveries are planned to be exhibited in a museum, and a documentary about the archaeological work will be produced for National Geographic.
Excavations of other unique sites, including tombs and houses dating back to the 10th-12th centuries, are ongoing in this area.
