The Committee for Religious Affairs has announced a new fine for organizing Umrah events without permission.
The violator was the tour operator Makan United Travel Group from Namangan. During an inspection, the agency found that it offered clients pilgrimage trips without the necessary license.
After the investigation, the company was fined. The Committee reminded that the amount of the fine is 200 BRV (75 million sums).
The Cabinet of Ministers approved a list of companies authorized to conduct Umrah in November 2024. This list includes 6 firms from Tashkent, 3 from Namangan, and one each from Andijan, Margilan, and Urgench.
To obtain a license, pilgrimage organizers must contribute $1 million to the "Ziyorat" fund and sign an agreement with a partner organization in Saudi Arabia. They are responsible for providing medical assistance to pilgrims, ensuring their meals, accommodation in hotels
Prior to this, the Committee for Religious Affairs fined several other companies, including Zaytun turizm, Xurmo Travel Umra, and System Air Train Tour. Additionally, the Competition Committee imposed fines for advertising pilgrimage without a license on 15 travel agencies and sent inquiries regarding more than 10 cases to the Ministry of Internal Affairs' Cybersecurity Center.
