According to the Ministry of Investments, Industry and Trade of Uzbekistan, its activities will cover eight countries – Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan, Armenia, and Georgia.
The bank was established in 1994 and currently holds assets exceeding 800 billion. To date, Uzbekistan has received over 3 billion dollars from the bank for more than 50 projects in the chemical industry, energy, transportation, agriculture, and water management.
Plans to open a regional office of the Chinese Eskimbank in Tashkent were announced in January of this year. In September, the bank received accreditation from the Central Bank of Uzbekistan.
It is worth noting that Chinese investors proposed a project for the development of copper-silver mines in the Babatag area. The investment will amount to 2.7 billion dollars.
