"Transactions involving the buying and selling of old-style $100 banknotes are carried out by banks in our country without any issues. The status of these banknotes as legal tender has not changed in any state," the regulator's statement reads.
The central bank urged the public not to trust unverified information and to rely solely on official sources. Citizens were also advised to contact the central bank's hotline at (71) 200−00−44 if they encounter difficulties when exchanging old-style $100 banknotes at bank exchange points.
It is noteworthy that in some countries, such as Turkey, Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyzstan, people face challenges when dealing with old-style $50 and $100 banknotes. They are either not accepted, or accepted at a reduced rate or with a commission.
