Uzbekistan and Turkey have transitioned the issuance of permits for bilateral and transit freight transport to an electronic format, as reported by the Ministry of Transport's press service.
Starting from November 11, permits for these types will only be issued in electronic form through the E-Permit system. They can be obtained via the automated information system E-Avto Ruxsatnoma.
National carriers will be able to independently submit applications for the issuance of permits.
The electronic E-permit system was first implemented between Uzbekistan and Turkey at the initiative of the Ministry of Transport two years ago, on November 11, 2022. This innovation aims to accelerate transport operations and increase trade turnover.
In February of this year, it became known that Kazakhstan proposed to Uzbekistan to establish electronic exchange of permits (E-permit). Aigul Kuspan, head of the Majilis Committee on International Affairs, Defense, and Security, noted the principle of "not competing, but complementing."
In March, Kazakhstan announced the issuance of electronic permits for entry into Uzbekistan. It was also planned to pilot the submission of applications from carriers through an online system. In April, the parties exchanged the first quotas and officially launched the E-permit system.
Additionally, in October, Uzbekistan agreed on electronic exchange of permit forms with Turkmenistan. The parties also reached an agreement on charging equal fees and payments for transport services.
