The messaging app WhatsApp has introduced a feature for text transcription of voice messages, as reported by the company's press service.
Users will now be able to read text versions of audio messages when listening to them is not possible.
According to the messenger, transcriptions will be carried out directly on users' devices, ensuring that the messages remain inaccessible to WhatsApp and third parties. To enable the feature, users need to navigate to the app settings: “Settings” → “Chats” → “Voice Message Transcription.” To transcribe a message, simply select it and click the “Transcribe” option.
This feature will be available to users worldwide in the coming weeks and will support multiple languages. The company promises to expand the list of supported languages in the coming months. WhatsApp stated that the implementation of this new feature is in response to user requests for easier interaction with voice messages.
Previously, Spot reported that Telegram introduced a number of new features for mini-apps.
