According to the Yonhap agency, the project is being carried out by the Korean National Railway Corporation (KORAIL), along with Saman and Dongmyeong Technology Corporation. The project is expected to be completed by spring 2026.
The high-speed railway line will connect Tashkent and Samarkand. As part of the project, KORAIL will transfer its advanced railway construction technologies to Uzbekistan.
As a reminder, the president previously announced the construction of new high-speed railways from Tashkent to Bukhara and Samarkand. The $30 billion project is being implemented through a public-private partnership by 2030.
