According to data from the international group of pharmaceutical companies STADA, the pharmaceutical market of the republic has become the second largest in Eurasia (excluding Russia) during the specified period, trailing only Kazakhstan. It is also one of the fastest-growing markets in the CIS.
"Currently, a significant number of new medications are being registered in the country, as a simplified registration system under the mutual recognition procedure is successfully in place. This allows patients to gain quicker access to modern and high-quality medications," the company's press release states.
Furthermore, the Uzbek market is of interest to many global pharmaceutical companies due to the stable population growth and ongoing reforms in the industry.
The retail segment accounts for 98% of sales in the country, while prescription products represent about 60-70% of sales. Positive dynamics in the over-the-counter medication market have been demonstrated by seven companies from the top 10.
