The Orient Group, which includes Golden House, has commented on the situation regarding Anhor and "Navruz" parks. Their statement has been published on the Golden House developer's website.
The statement indicates that recently, media and social networks have circulated reports about the construction of multi-story buildings on the territory of Anhor Park and "Navruz," referring to a project visualization located within these parks.
"Orient Group Management officially announces that neither the developer Golden House nor any other companies within the Orient Group plan to implement this project or construct on this site," the statement reads.
The published project visualization, it is noted, was extracted from an internal presentation by a former Golden House employee who left the company in 2024. Working groups regularly present various projects for consideration to the company and external partners, not all of which are ultimately approved, Golden House emphasized.
Orient Group Management intends to transfer ownership rights of the "Anhor" shopping and entertainment center, located in Anhor Park, to "another private company." A "new building" will be constructed on the site of the shopping center by the external company. However, Golden House did not specify the name of the company to which the ownership rights will be transferred.
"We were extremely surprised by the publications attributing such intentions to Golden House. We do not know who and with what intent posted information from the company's internal presentation online, causing outrage among Tashkent residents. Unfortunately, none of the media representatives or bloggers covering this issue reached out to us for official clarifications. Golden House is implementing a number of projects in other areas of the capital and has no plans to work in the 'Anhor' and 'Navruz' parks. I want to reiterate and hope to be heard: we have absolutely no plans for facilities, let alone green zones in the parks," said Golden House CEO Vladimir Kalina.
Orient Group Management and Golden House have invited journalists and bloggers to send official inquiries to the companies' press services for timely information if necessary.
What is happening with Anhor Park
Last week, information emerged in the media about the demolition of Anhor Park in Tashkent. Renderings of a new project were also circulated, indicating plans to construct a residential complex in place of the park.
Tenants of the shopping center in Anhor Park reported that they received notices of closure and must vacate the premises. Currently, all shops and retail outlets have ceased operations, and only a few food establishments continue to operate in the food court area.
There have been no official statements from the park administration, city authorities, or the developer, nor has information about possible tenders and auctions for the shopping center territory been published.
Spot has investigated the situation, learned the position of the park administration, and talked to tenants and activists who publicly advocated for the preservation of Anhor Park from potential demolition.
Previously, Spot reported that a Deputy from the Ecological Party submitted a request regarding the legality of the construction in Anhor Park.
