UzAuto Motors has completed the re-contracting of a batch of Chevrolet Cobalt vehicles, as reported by the automaker's press service.

The process took just under two hours. During this time, the company received 12,688 orders, including 2,751 for the standard configuration (GX-Style AT Plus) and 9,937 for the GX-Midnight AT variant.

The majority of the contracts were made by individuals after authorization through the OneID system— they placed orders for 12,646 vehicles (99.7%). Additionally, 42 cars were contracted by legal entities.

The largest round of contracting this year took place on November 22, when the company accepted over 55.4 thousand orders for Cobalt vehicles in just 10 hours. However, 22 thousand of these were put up for resale on December 11 due to non-payment by previous buyers.

Since the end of 2022, UzAuto Motors has suspended open sales of mass-market models—Cobalt, Lacetti, Damas, and Labo. Since then, the company has repeatedly opened and closed contracting.

At the end of December 2023, the company halted sales of Cobalt, Damas, and Labo vehicles, contracting a total of 171 thousand cars in three days—this represented the entire production volume for 2024. At that time, the company also announced the creation of a base of contracts listed for resale.

On March 29, UzAuto Motors put 18 thousand Labo up for re-contracting, which were sold out in just 55 minutes. In April, the company offered 24 thousand Damas, with orders also coming in less than an hour, and on May 8, 4,500 Lacetti were re-contracted in just 25 minutes.

The next round of contracting took place in June, where the order placement for a batch of 25 thousand Cobalt lasted over nine hours. On July 5, just over 14 thousand sedans were re-contracted.

In October, UzAuto Motors announced the launch of Chevrolet Cobalt production in the Midnight configuration. The price of the vehicle will be 155,231,000 sums, which is 7.3 million sums more than the existing options.

Previously, Spot reported that a "beautiful" license plate was sold at the commodity exchange for 474 million sums.
