This is one of a series of measures aimed at enhancing energy efficiency in the country, which was presented to the president on February 19.
Additionally, a consumer education program on energy conservation, based on Japanese experience, will be implemented across Uzbekistan. Plans are also in place to improve thermal insulation in apartment buildings to save electricity.
Other measures for optimizing energy consumption and increasing energy efficiency were also presented during the presentation.
For instance, a targeted program will be approved for upgrading boilers and installing energy-saving equipment in social sector facilities. It is noted that this measure will save 5 million cubic meters of gas and 15 million kilowatt-hours of electricity this year alone.
Moreover, in the water management system, outdated pumps will be replaced with modern ones, which will allow for an annual savings of one billion kilowatt-hours of electricity. Large industrial enterprises will also have scientifically justified energy consumption standards established per unit of production, which is expected to reduce energy costs by 5-10%.
It’s worth mentioning that earlier there was information circulating that among subscribers consuming more than 1,000 kilowatt-hours of electricity per month, intensified promotion of solar panel installations would take place. However, the company "Regional Electric Networks" officially denied these rumors.
