The program is being implemented as part of a joint project between the Ministry of Economy and Finance of the Republic of Uzbekistan and UNDP titled "Empowering Youth for the Development of the Digital Economy and Digital Entrepreneurship." The main goal of this initiative is to enhance IT skills among women and encourage their active professional growth in this field.

UNDP has taken a key role in selecting and preparing participants by organizing orientation sessions on topics such as professionalism, working with digital tools, and effective communication. Additionally, UNDP monitored the internship process, collected feedback, and implemented improvements to enhance the effectiveness of the program.

AVO bank provided participants with practical work experience in their teams for an entire month, allowing them to apply their knowledge to real-world IT and digital technology projects. Each intern was assigned a mentor who provided necessary support and helped them unlock their professional potential in a comfortable work environment.

Practical Work

The interns had the opportunity to engage in real bank projects, applying their knowledge under the guidance of mentors. The first phase of the program included the participation of:

  • Feruzabonu Kodirova, a graduate of Cambridge International University, who interned in the marketing department as an SMM manager;
  • Shokhruza Jaborova, a graduate of the National Institute of Arts and Design named after Kamoliddin Behzod, who explored the role of a designer supporting the bank's HR activities;
  • Sarvinoz Umarova, a third-year student at IT Park University, who interned at the bank as a data analyst.

As a result of the first joint project between AVO bank and UNDP, the young interns presented their work outcomes, participated in discussions with mentors about the progress of their internships, and engaged with media representatives, sharing their impressions of their initial work experiences. Among the distinguished guests was the UNDP Resident Representative in Uzbekistan, Akiko Fujii, who awarded the women with certificates of participation in the project and its successful completion.

Program Outcomes

The program participants gained not only practical experience but also valuable networking and self-expression skills.

AVO bank, demonstrating social responsibility, actively supports young talents and creates opportunities for their professional development. Within the framework of this initiative, one of the interns was offered employment, opening new prospects for her career advancement.

As part of the memorandum, new projects are planned for the upcoming year that will provide even more opportunities for women’s professional growth, especially in the IT sector.
