The Cabinet of Ministers has revised the pricing procedure for gas for certain consumers in the residential sector. This was reported by the Competition Committee.
According to item 111 of the regulations for the use of natural gas approved in May, the following categories of consumers must pay for blue fuel at rates for household users:
- departmental and municipal housing facilities;
- hostels owned by legal entities;
- local boiler houses owned by housing cooperatives that provide services to the population.
The rates introduced in June include price increases when certain thresholds are exceeded. This means that, for example, for local boiler houses, the rates for gas used for heating increase fourfold — up to 2600 sums per cubic meter.
Representatives of the Competition Committee have submitted proposals to the relevant government bodies to resolve the issue. As a result, the Cabinet has amended item 111 of the gas usage regulations.
The new version stipulates that gas for local boiler houses, hostels, and departmental and municipal housing should be paid at a base rate (650 sums per cubic meter). The corresponding amendment was made by the resolution of November 22, which concerned the reduction of requirements for businesses.
Earlier, Spot reported that the Competition Committee received 380 complaints regarding the activities of management companies over a period of 10 months.
