The Iranian government has eliminated the entry fee for Uzbek trucks, as reported by the press service of the Ministry of Transport.
The zero fee applies to both cargo transport to and from the Islamic Republic, as well as transit through its territory. This decision will take effect on January 10.
Previously, the entry fee was $400. The Ministry of Transport has promised to continue negotiations with the Iranian side to reduce costs for national carriers.
Uzbekistan has also abolished the entry and transit fees for freight transport from Iran through the state budget law for 2025. The relevant annex stated that the zero fee is established on a parity basis.
At the same time, the government has increased fees for Turkmen carriers. The increase for trucks weighing up to 20 tons is $80, while for those over 20 tons, it is $100. The additional fee for importing goods from third countries has more than doubled to $375.
Differentiated rates have also been introduced for Azerbaijan and EU countries depending on the length of stay. For stays of less than two weeks, the fee will be $80; beyond that time, it will be $280.
Earlier, Spot reported that the organization of weight and dimensional control for trucks would be transferred to the business sector.
