The Chinese company Sinoma EC International will construct a solar power plant in Uzbekistan, as reported by the press service of the Ministry of Investment, Industry, and Trade.

On November 29, Minister of Investments, Industry, and Trade Laziz Kudratov and the General Director of Sinoma Energy Conservation International Investment Co., Ltd., Zuo Dayun, signed an investment agreement.

The agreement includes the construction of a solar power station with a capacity of 300 MW and energy storage systems with a capacity of 75 MW in the Karmaninsky district of the Navoi region.

According to photographs from the signing ceremony, the Chinese company will also build overhead power lines. Additionally, "Uzkimyosanoat" is mentioned as a project participant, although its role is not specified.

During the meeting, it was noted that the launch of the project will contribute to Uzbekistan's goal of increasing renewable energy sources to 25 GW by 2030 and achieving a share of 40% in the country's overall consumption.

Spot reported that the president proposed declaring 2025 as the Year of the "Green" Economy.
