Shavkat Mirziyoyev reviewed the ongoing work in the automotive industry and the plans for 2025, according to the president's press service.
The automotive sector accounts for 10% of Uzbekistan's industry. Over the past ten months, 338,000 passenger cars have been produced, with 1,400 types of components localized. In the industry, production costs have decreased by 4%, and car exports amounted to $455 million.
At the meeting, the chairman of "Uzavtosanoat," Ulugbek Rozukulov, presented information on plans and future objectives.
In 2025, it is planned to produce 450,000 cars and increase exports to $700 million.
There are also plans to strengthen cooperation with regional enterprises and increase localization. Specifically, 63 projects worth $325 million will be implemented to establish the production of 700 components.

Currently, electric vehicles Chazor and Song Plus Champion are being produced at the BYD plant in the Jizzakh region. In the coming years, the model range will be expanded.
In the second phase, with an investment of $300 million, it is planned to increase the production volume of electric vehicles to 200,000 units per year, and in the third phase to 500,000 units.
The head of state instructed to coordinate with Chinese partners on the construction of additional capacities, to master the production of components and spare parts for electric vehicles, and to form orders for domestic enterprises based on cooperation.
