The Competition Committee has successfully overturned a fine that was unjustly imposed on the "Sherabad Cement Plant." This was reported by the supervisory authority.
Representatives of the plant appealed to the supervisory authority in the Surkhandarya region in October. They accused the local branch of "Hududgazta’minot" of mistakenly calculating debts due to incorrect tariff calculations and not accounting for previously paid amounts.
During the investigation, the Committee found that "Hududgaz Surkhandarya" had applied inflated gas tariffs to the company in July-August 2022. This was due to a change in ownership, as until August 3, 2022, the plant was part of the Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Complex.
However, throughout August, the gas price used by the plant was calculated at the tariff for AGMK—1300 soums per cubic meter (compared to 1000 soums for other companies). As a result, around 1 billion soums of excess debt was charged.
A Special Commission of the committee initiated a case against "Hududgaz Surkhandarya." The branch was instructed to recalculate the gas payments in favor of the plant.
Earlier, Spot reported that Texnomart was fined for advertising "best" prices on smartphones.
