The Tashkent administration has prepared a draft resolution for revising public transport fare rates. The document has been published on the SOVAZ portal.
It is planned to set the fare for buses and the metro at 3000 sums. The cost of transporting oversized luggage will be 4000 sums.
In the case of incentive discounts for electronic payments, the fare for a single trip will amount to 1700 sums. When using tariffs linked to the number of trips, the fare is fixed at 1600 sums per trip.
Tariffs linked to the number of trips apply only to buses. Their costs and other conditions are provided in the table below:
Number of trips | Validity period | Cost (in sums) |
10 trips | 2 days | 16,000 |
20 trips | 5 days | 30,000 |
30 trips | 7 days | 44,000 |
Moreover, the resolution provides for a gradual phase-out of cash payments on all buses. Discounted tariffs for transfers within 1 hour after the first payment will remain unchanged.
The last fare increase for public transport occurred in November 2023. At that time, the cost of a trip when paying in cash was raised to 2000 sums, while payments via bank cards or ATTO were set at 1700 sums.
Transport Minister Ilkhom Makhkamov spoke in October about plans to eliminate cash payments on Tashkent buses. Instead, information kiosks for purchasing tickets with QR codes are planned to be installed at bus stops, and devices for scanning these codes will be placed inside the buses.
Earlier, Spot reported that ATTO and the Kyrgyz Tulpar agreed to mutually accept fare payments.
