As previously reported by Spot, during the official visit, Shavkat Mirziyoyev held talks with the Emir of Kuwait, Sheikh Mishaal Al-Sabah.
Following the negotiations that took place in Kuwait City, the leaders of both countries issued a joint statement on the development of comprehensive partnership between Uzbekistan and Kuwait.
The parties also signed the following documents:
- an agreement on cooperation in the field of industry;
- a protocol to the agreement on air communication;
- an agreement on cooperation in the labor sector;
- an agreement on collaboration in the creation of "smart" cities;
- an agreement on cooperation in the field of arts and culture;
- an agreement on cooperation in the healthcare sector;
- a program of activities in the tourism sector for 2025−2027;
- an agreement on cooperation with the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development.
Moreover, the leaders agreed to establish a Uzbekistan-Kuwait investment platform and a business council. A trade house for Uzbekistan is planned to be opened in Kuwait City.
Shavkat Mirziyoyev and members of the Kuwaiti government discussed the practical implementation of the agreements reached during today's high-level talks. The priority task identified was the development of trade, economic, and investment ties.
During the negotiations, the importance of supporting and promoting projects in sectors such as agriculture, logistics and transport, hydroenergy, infrastructure, healthcare, pharmaceuticals, and others was emphasized. An agreement was also reached to organize active contacts and mutual visits to promote joint programs and cooperation projects included in the roadmap.
Earlier, Spot reported that the number of companies with investments from China increased by 110 in just one month.
