On December 19, Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a meeting focused on the current state and measures for further increasing gas production, according to the presidential press service.

The head of "Uzbekneftegaz," Bakhdir Siddikov, presented a report on the work done this year and the objectives for 2025. Work is underway on several projects involving foreign companies, with whom projects have been developed to stabilize gas production volumes for the coming year. In particular, new wells will be drilled and existing operational wells will be repaired using modern technologies, ensuring a gas production volume of 26.5 billion cubic meters.

The main issue identified in the industry has been the "insufficient attention to geological exploration work over many years." As a result, certain deposits have nearly exhausted their reserves, while the efficiency of others remains low.

To address this issue, it is planned to implement modern technologies and initiate geological exploration in 15 promising areas. The seismic exploration area will be expanded to 6,500 square kilometers.

The head of state instructed responsible officials to develop a program for the advancement of geology and the exploration of new fields in 2025, involving major foreign companies and experts.

It was also reported during the meeting that the transformation of "Uzbekneftegaz" will continue, with key tasks including reducing production costs and improving the international credit rating.

In 2025, it is planned to attract $2 billion from international sources to finance production and geological exploration projects.

Alongside investments and new technologies, Mirziyoyev emphasized the importance of human resources. The president provided directives aimed at improving the quality of education and training modern specialists, as well as inviting qualified compatriots working abroad.
