In the Sergeli district of Tashkent, power outages are expected on December 26-27, as reported by the press service of "Tashgorenergo."
Work is being conducted on the modernization and repair of 35/110 kV substations. Interruptions in electricity supply are anticipated in the neighborhoods of "Kut-baraka" and "Sogdiona" from 9 AM to 6 PM.
Since the summer of 2023, a large-scale modernization of the power grid has been ongoing in the capital. In June, the most extensive rolling blackouts of the season were observed—on June 8, for instance, eight districts lost electricity.
Last August, Shavkat Mirziyoyev announced the transition of energy sector management to an emergency operational mode. The President urged officials to act urgently to prepare the energy system for the autumn-winter period.
During a meeting in October 2023, the head of state tasked the development of a program for the modernization of power lines and transformers by the end of 2026. By this time, it is planned to reduce the share of electricity losses in the networks by 1.5 times.
The President reiterated the goal of eliminating emergency power outages by June of this year. An additional 14 trillion sums will be allocated for the preparation of the energy sector for the upcoming autumn-winter period.
