The Telegram team has released another update for the messenger. The PC client is now available in version 5.9.0, while Android and iOS users can access version 11.5.
For developers of mini-apps, the ability to launch affiliate programs has been added. Additionally, the messenger now features collages in stories and several other innovations.
Affiliate Programs
Creators of mini-apps can now initiate promotional campaigns among Telegram users. Participants will earn a certain percentage of the stars spent by users in the applet when they follow a referral link.
Users and channel administrators will be able to choose which affiliate program to join. To participate, they need to obtain a unique referral link and share it with their contacts (for users) or readers (for channels).
A list of active affiliate programs is available in the "Star Balance" section. It can be sorted by commission size or validity period.
Commissions will be credited to the account in real-time. Payments will be made throughout the entire duration specified in the program's terms—even if it ends prematurely.
Setting up affiliate programs is available in a special menu window for bot and mini-app administrators. Creators can specify the percentage of future earnings they are willing to share with participants, as well as the program's duration.
AI for Sticker Search
Telegram has added a specialized artificial intelligence model that supports complex search queries on the sticker panel. It allows the use of multiple keywords to find results from over 40,000 stickers included in official sets.
This feature works in various languages, including English and Russian, and with a Telegram Premium subscription, it can also be used to search for emojis. Additionally, instant suggestions can be received above the input line by using a colon before the word.
Collages in Stories
When sending a story, users can combine up to 6 photos or videos into a single composition. They can choose different layouts and select which part of the video to display.
To change the location of a clip, it needs to be dragged. By clicking on the clip, users will have the option to delete it, replace the file, or adjust the video volume.
Captions Above Media
A separate button "Move Caption Up" has appeared in the media file editor. This allows users to quickly move the text attached to an image or video (previously, this could only be done from the attachment menu).
