Shavkat Mirziyoyev reviewed proposals aimed at ensuring food security and increasing the yield of cotton and grain crops, according to the president's press service.
In 2025, it is planned to cultivate agricultural crops on 4.8 million hectares, with more than 2 million hectares allocated for potatoes, fruit and vegetable crops, legumes, and melons. Additionally, monitoring of crop placement and harvest reservation will be conducted.
Specifically, a system will be implemented to account for 10 key food products of primary importance. This system will reflect information by district on what products are being cultivated and how much is reserved for the domestic market.
At the initiative of the head of state, 260,000 hectares of land have been distributed among 800,000 citizens for cultivation. Furthermore, based on the experience of Saykhunabad, the cultivation of produce on household plots is actively supported, which has increased agricultural production volumes and helped prevent a sharp rise in food prices.
