В Законодательной палате Узбекистана лишь два депутата представляют молодёжь.

Only two members of Uzbekistan's Legislative Chamber are from the youth demographic.

During the recent meeting of the Central Election Commission, the results of the parliamentary elections were announced. A member of the Central Election Commission stated this yesterday at 23:47.

At the latest meeting of the Central Election Commission, the results of the parliamentary elections were summarized. Central Election Commission member Mukhtabar Khusanova provided information about the qualitative composition of the deputies.

The new composition of the Legislative Chamber includes 150 deputies. The majority of them (46.6%) are in the age group of 45 to 60 years. Deputies aged 30 to 45 make up 38.6%, while those over 60 account for 13.3%. Notably, only two of the newly elected deputies in the Legislative Chamber are under 30 years old. Women represent 38% of the total number of deputies, which is a historic high.

The national composition of deputies also reflects the multinational character of our country. Representatives of other nationalities living in our country make up 12.7 percent of the elected deputies. Among them are 5 Russians, 3 representatives each of Kazakh and Tajik nationalities, 2 Koreans, and 1 representative of Turkmen and Kyrgyz nationalities.

All deputies hold higher education degrees. The most common specialties include: economists (30%), lawyers (22%), educators (18.7%), engineers (12%), representatives from the medical field (9.3%), and those from the cultural sector, entrepreneurs, and farmers (8%).

Notably, 35% of the deputies hold academic degrees. For the first time, 3 individuals with disabilities have been elected to parliament, which enhances the opportunities for stronger protection of the rights and interests of this category of citizens in the parliament.

The emergence of new faces with diverse professional experiences and education may introduce fresh ideas and approaches to the legislative process.
