The Committee of State Revenues of the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Kazakhstan has announced the resumption of regular operations at the border crossing points "Atameken" and "B. Konyssbaev" with Uzbekistan. It is important to remember that on October 15, an accident occurred in the electrical networks in the Turkestan region, resulting in power outages in the Makhtaaral and Keles districts.
The power outage also impacted the operations at the border crossing points on the Kazakhstan-Uzbekistan border. Specifically, there were communication disruptions at the "Atameken" and "B. Konyssbaev" posts, which led to difficulties in customs clearance and the functioning of the integrated control system, including the electronic queue.
As a result of the situation, the movement of vehicles in both directions was halted, causing traffic jams at the approaches to the border crossing points.
To quickly resolve the issue and reduce waiting times for citizens, the Committee of State Revenues implemented a series of measures. The border crossing points were switched to an enhanced operational mode with the involvement of additional personnel.
"Considering the high capacity of the 'B. Konyssbaev' crossing point, which can handle up to 1000 vehicles per day in each direction, we expect to fully eliminate the consequences of the disruption and normalize the situation in the near future," the agency emphasized.
